After over 100 years, we’re proud to say that Sugar River Bank is still locally owned and operated by dedicated people who live and work in the communities we serve.
SRB had the pleasure of welcoming a bright and curious group of 3rd graders from Richards Elementary School to our bank! The students enjoyed a fun and educational tour, learned about saving, how banks work, and even got a peek inside the vault! 💰🔐 It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm and mind opening questions.
A big thank-you to their teachers and chaperones for organizing the visit. We love being a part of our community and helping young minds learn about money in a fun, hands-on way!

Sugar River Bank Scholarship Awards 2026
Sugar River Bank awarded scholarships to three outstanding students from Newport Middle High School, Kearsarge Regional High School and Sunapee Middle High School.
Tina Blythe, Vice President Retail Administrator with
Connor Clark Newport Middle High School
Connor will be studying environmental science at Colorado University.
Throughout his high school career, Connor has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication. He has served as president of his class all four years of high school and has been an active member and officer of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Student Council, and FFA. His commitment to serving others is evident through his 295 hours of community service.
In addition to his academic achievements, Connor has excelled as a multi-sport athlete, participating in basketball, football, and track and field. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or in the community, Connor consistently leads by example and inspires those around him.
Angela MacCreighton, New London Branch Manager with Sawyer Willett, Kearsarge Regional High School.
Sawyer will attend University of New Hampshire studying for an engineering degree. With a lifelong passion for the outdoors, science, and discovery, Sawyer has developed a deep curiosity about how the world works. Known for academic dedication and a desire to make a positive impact, Sawyer looks forward to gaining hands-on experience through internships, projects, and campus involvement while preparing for a career in engineering.
Tammy Heiser Sunapee Branch Manager with Conner Messenger, Sunapee Middle High School
Connor will be attending University of North Carolina in Wilmington to study business administration. Connor was selected by faculty and peers as the DAR Good Citizen, an honor that recognizes leadership, service, dependability, and patriotism. As a New Hampshire Scholar, he has also shown a strong commitment to academic excellence.
Connor has demonstrated exceptional dedication both inside and outside the classroom, balancing seasonal employment with active participation in soccer, bass fishing, skiing, track and field, and the Harvard Model Congress team.
Newport National Night Out 2026
The Newport community came together to celebrate the 3rd Annual National Night Out! National Night Out is celebrated each year on the first Tuesday in August across the United States and Canada. The event is designed to strengthen relationships between neighbors, law enforcement, first responders, and community organizations while promoting community awareness and safety.
This year's celebration on the Newport Town Common brought together residents of all ages for an evening of community spirit, connection, and fun. With strong attendance and enthusiastic participation, the event continues to grow as a valued Newport tradition.

Twas Just Before Christmas Festival – Newport
The ’Twas Just Before Christmas Festival in Newport on Saturday, December 13th was a wonderful success. The second annual Festival of Trees was fantastic, and our Candy Cane themed tree looked great. A special thank-you to Alli and Pete for making the chili. It was delicious and very appreciated!

Join us in recognizing Commercial Loan Officer Frank Donlan for his dedication to giving back through his service on the Board of Trustees for Speedway Children’s Charities NH. Through their collective efforts this year, $155,600 in grants were distributed to 43 New England charities, making a meaningful difference for children and families across the region. We are proud of Frank and honored to support such impactful work in our community.
Feztival of Trees 2025

Trunk or Treat – Warner, NH 2025! 🎪
Derek Lick, Board Director; Ginger Marsh, AVP Regional Branch Administrator; Maureen Hampton, Chair of the Board: Karissa Lander, Internal Audit/Compliance Assistant; and Todd Sheppard, Float Teller, helped make this year’s downtown Trunk or Treat in Warner a huge success!
They put together amazing circus themed trunks & booths that brought big smiles to the kids and families who stopped by.
A fantastic time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a fun and memorable night!
2nd Annual Trunk or Treat at Verani Realty 🎃
Despite the weather challenges, Frank Donlan, Commercial Loan Officer in Concord, showed up in full spirit for the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat at Verani Realty. Frank made participants earn their candy with a fun and creative fishing game and it was a hit!
Our 4th Annual Shred Event
Sugar River Bank proudly took part in New Hampshire Banks Give Back 2025 by hosting two community shred events and food drives. Thanks to the incredible support from our community, over 2,500 pounds of paper were safely shredded, and we collected a generous amount of non-perishable food for the Warner and Newport Food Pantries.
We’re so grateful to our wonderful volunteers and everyone who participated to make this year’s event such a success. Your generosity and community spirit truly make a difference!

Jeans Days
Every Friday SRB employees are able to wear jeans for a donation to a local organization.
We’re excited to share that all the donations collected during our July Jeans Days went toward back-to-school supplies for our local schools! 🖍️✏️📓
Our employees generosity is helping students start the school year off right, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you for making a difference in our communities!

Newport National Night Out August 5th, 2025
The Newport community came together to celebrate the 2nd Annual National Night Out! National Night out is celebrated every year on the first Tuesday in August in the United States and Canada. The day is meant to enhance the relationship between neighborhoods and communities and raise awareness as a community-based day. This was Newport’s first time participating in the event. The event was on the town common and very well attended. Hope to see you next year!

The 99th Annual Hospital Days was a tremendous success, thanks to the incredible support of our community. We sincerely thank everyone who attended, contributed, and helped uphold this long-standing tradition of care and connection.
We are proud to announce that this year’s Hospital Days celebration is dedicated to expanding access to life’s essentials including nutritious food, personal care items, and emergency assistance through the Patient and Family Community Care Initiatives.

Lexi will be attending River Valley Community College to pursue a degree in radiology. Alexis was in the top ten of her class and participated in the FBLA, organizing and executing senior events, HOSA, and student council.
Angela MacCreighton, New London Branch Manager with Luna Landers, Kearsarge Regional High School.
Luna will be attending Colorado State University to pursue a degree in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting. Luna is very committed to her academics and her community with being involved in several organizations and volunteering numerous hours.
Tammy Heiser Sunapee Branch Manager with Jordan Roosevelt, Sunapee Middle High School.
Jordan will be attending Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Jordan graduated the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA. Jordan was the President of National Honor Society his senior year and has received numerous awards for his hard work and dedication to school and his community.

SRB Employees support The Wall that Heals
Sugar River Bank employees were proud to show their support for The Wall That Heals (a mobile replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall) as it made its way through our community on June 24th.
We stand with our veterans, their families, and all who have served our country. It was an honor to be part of this meaningful event, remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice

SRB hosted a diaper drive for the Concord Diaper Pantry. The pantry helps over 100 families a month in New Hampshire. Each family receives a package of diapers and wipes per child. The drive was a huge success, thank you to everyone that donated.

Every Friday SRB employees are able to wear jeans for a donation to a local organization. In January they raised over $500 for local Mental Wellness programs. We would like to thank our employees for their participation and generosity.
